CPS-Chirotech expertise in using biocatalysis for the development of scaleable, economic processes used in the production of chiral intermediates and APIs spans more than 20 years. 
Enzymes are nature's catalysts that can be harnessed to produce chiral products for the pharmaceutical industry.  Their inherent stereoselectivity, regioselectivity and ability to work under mild conditions means using enzymes as a chemical catalysts allows economic and sustainable manufacturing processes to be developed.

Our multidisciplinary team can offer the following:

• Fast and efficient screening of our collections of more than 700 isolated enzymes and 2000 wild-type microorganisms
• Cloning and over-expression of a desired enzyme activity to achieve a unique, differentiated and economic catalyst
• Advantaged fermentation of enzymes using a highly efficient Pseudomonas fluorescens expression system
• Automated optimisation of the biotransformation for rapid process development

We have expertise in the application of a large number of enzyme classes including: lipase/esterase, protease, amino acylase, b- and g-lactamase, alcohol dehydrogenase, nitrilase, aldolase and transaminase enzymes.  This allows us efficient access to a wide variety of different chiral product classes including: a, b, and g amino acids, alcohols, amines, carboxylic acids and esters.
