Hydroformylation

CPS-Chirotech is a world leader in the application of hydroformylation for the production of fine chemical and pharmaceutical intermediates.  This technology allows access to a wide variety of highly versatile aldehydes with an exceptional degree of functional group tolerance.  In addition, the mild and neutral reaction conditions enable the isolation of aldehyde intermediates that are often unstable when prepared using conventional methods.

Our collection of proprietary catalysts enables a high degree of control over both the chemo and regioselectivity for the products formed and, in the case of the asymmetric reaction, excellent enantioselectivities in numerous cases.

The technology has been practised on scale, manufacturing tonne quantities of aldehyde intermediates, and downstream chemistry has been developed that allows for in-situ conversion to either chiral or achiral amines, alcohols or acids.

Hydroformylation allows access to wide range of functional groups including alcohols, acids, amines, imines and enamines.
